African students the most mobile in the world

Students from sub-Saharan Africa are the most mobile in the world: one in 16 students is studying abroad. This is evident from a report recently published by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS). At the other end of the spectrum is the United States, with only one in 250 students studying abroad.

The Global Education Digest includes recent education statistics from primary to tertiary education from more than 200 countries. The Digest also presents new comparative indicators in the field of education, which can be well used to analyze progress towards the Education For All (EFA) and the Millennium Development Goals.
